Existing Buildings - Overview
Looking to produce EPCs for existing dwellings and practise as a Domestic Energy Assessor?
Elmhurst Energy Systems provide professional and affordable software, training and Accreditation for individuals looking to practise as Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs) and produce Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for existing dwellings.

Existing dwellings - what are the requirements?
All domestic dwellings in England, Wales and Northern Ireland require EPCs to be produced when they are sold or rented. A legally valid EPC for a sale or rental of a domestic dwelling can only be produced by a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) or Home Inspector (HI) who is licensed with a Government approved Accreditation Scheme.
EPCs provide information on the energy efficiency, heating costs and carbon emissions of the dwelling and also suggest potential energy efficiency improvements that can be made to dwelling.
The Government has produced a national calculation methodology called Reduced Data Standard Assessment Procedure (RdSAP); this is the prescribed software methodology which all DEAs must use to produce valid EPCs.

Elmhurst has developed its own Government approved RdSAP online software tool and can provide the appropraite training, qualification and Accreditation for an individual to produce legaly valid EPCs.
