Domestic Energy Assessor training
Only energy assessors who are members of a Government approved accreditation scheme, such as Elmhurst, may produce legally valid EPCs. In order to join an accreditation scheme candidates must demonstrate, amongst other things, that they are appropriately trained and qualified. This will require candidates to complete an approved Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) qualification, or equivalent.
At Elmhurst we pride ourselves in providing professional and cost effective training. We currently provide appropriate training and qualification route for new entrants wishing to practise as a DEA.
New entrants
ABBE Level 3 Certificate in Domestic Energy Assessment (QCF) £1258 + VAT*
ABBE (Awarding Body for the Built Environment) is an Awarding Body regulated by Ofqual (the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) for the delivery of a wide range of qualifications in the Property and Construction sectors of industry.
Successful candidates undertaking this route obtain a nationally recognised DEA Certificate, set at level 3 or the equivalent of an ‘A' level.

Training
- A 3 day course held at Elmhurst’s dedicated training suite, centrally located just off Junction 20 of the M1 at Lutterworth.
- Free use of our software

- Distance learning and course materials
Assessment
- A 55 minute online multiple choice ABBE examination at centres around the U.K.
- A portfolio of evidence including a minimum of 5 Energy Performance Certificates and the specified additional assessment material
