Registered Social Landlords - Accreditation
Overview
The EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) requires all domestic properties to have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) which is to to be provided to prospective buyers / leaseholders when marketed for sale or rent. The EPC provides information on the energy efficiency, heating costs and carbon emissions of the property.
EPCs can only be produced by Accredited (licensed) Energy Assessors i.e. individuals that have already undertaken the Elmhurst DEA training & qualification course.
Elmhurst Energy Systems Ltd is one of the Government Accreditation Bodies ensuring Domestic Energy Assessors are ‘Fit' and ‘Qualified' to undertake the work. Elmhurst Energy Systems Ltd has an unrivalled reputation and experience in the provision of energy rating software, training and Accreditation. Successful Accreditation under this scheme allows energy assessors to work throughout England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
Accreditation Costs
The cost of Accreditation has two elements. An Annual Membership fee and a separate fee per Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) issued.
Membership Fees
- Membership/Application Fee Year 1: £99.00 exc VAT
- Subsequent Annual Membership Renewal is free of charge if you have produced 50 EPCs in the previous accreditation year
- If you have produced less than 50 EPCs in the previous Accreditation year then the renewal fee is - £50.00 exc VAT.
Please note: If your application is unsuccessful £50.00 will be refunded.
Energy Performance Certificate costs
A charge is made for each EPC produced which includes the cost of using the Elmhurst Energy Systems; Energy Rating software, monitoring and Professional Indemnity (Public Liability) Insurance. The cost per EPC reduces with increased volume (volume count applies to the number of EPCs produced in any one year of Accreditation by an individual). In addition to the cost there is a lodgement fee payable per EPC, which will be collected by Elmhurst Energy and passed to Landmark without any margin or mark-up. Landmark manages the register of all EPCs lodged and the fee is mandatory. This fee is currently £1.15 (exc VAT) per EPC lodged.
