Elmhurst Inventory Scheme

inventory logo web jpeg Elmhurst has set up an Inventory Scheme to help promote the use of certified inventory reports. A certified report will have been carried out by an appropriately trained and qualified provider, each certificate will be covered by both Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance and all certificates are held centrally by Elmhurst.
All licenced Elmhurst Inventory providers have to work to a code of practice, their work is monitored and they must maintain a record of continuous professional development.

The scheme provides full technical support to all it’s members and also a web based lodgement system. Elmhurst provides training based upon industry best practice and then uses the Association of Approved Inventory Providers (APIP) examination to prove individual candidate competence. Successful candidates will automatically join the Elmhurst Inventory Scheme and will also become members of APIP. Membership of APIP has it’s own benefits for further details please visit http://www.apip.org.uk

Further Information on the Tenancy Deposit
It has been a long established practice for landlords to require a deposit from new tenants to offset damage and breakages during the tenancy. Often however disputes have arisen over these damages and breakages which often rightly or wrongly in the eyes of the tennent has led to part or all of this deposit being retained.
